Hello,
I have a NAS326 and want to access this remote from the outside with my smartphone. As router I use a Fritzbox 7490.
I would like to use a VPN connection, because it is the safest one. Is that possible?
If not, an FTP connection with SSH encryption would work as well.
So far I have only found the possibility to set up an FTP connection? Isn't that too insecure?
What would you suggest?

When you enable the ssh server on the NAS, you can use SFTP to access it, on port 22. The box also supports FTPES, but that is hard to portforward.

I got it now. I have set up a VPN connection to my Fritzbox. This allows me to access my home network from my smartphone when I'm on the go.
I can also access the NAS326 from my smartphone via the browser. However, I cannot use the file browser on my smartphone. If I select the "neighboring network" I get the message that WLAN must be activated.
Does anyone know how to fix this?
