NSA 325v1 RAID1 degraded

My RAID with 2x 2Tb WD Red disks in RAID1 is showing as degraded.
I can read all files from DISK 2 when DISK 1 is unplugged. DISK 1 external test is failing, so I purchased a new 2Tb WD and inserted it in DISK 1, however the recover process stops. How can I recover this RAID? Am I missing something?

If you have some extra hard drives you can try to backup your data. Then try to repair from NAS GUI for degraded RAID. But make sure you backed up your data.
By the way do you have any screenshots for that issue?0 -
You can simulate a faulty raid1 set via SSH command:
mdadm --manage --set-faulty /dev/md0 /dev/sda2
