Hi,

We noticed on one our USG40W an empty interface. It suddenly appeared.
When I try to open it I get an error : "Wrong CLI command, device timeout or device logout."
Can you tell me why i have this new interface ?

Thanks,
Davy

IMVHO the interface could an interface glitch due to a erroneus/malformed/corrupted configuration.
USG40W has 5 phisical ports and logical interfaces, which currently are numbered from 2 to 6

Maybe it was a edited config made to work with the USG40W ?

This interface was not here yesterday. the router is new with a new config we use on many sites, and we have the issue only on this one.

    Hello @IT_Field_Support,

May I know which firmware version currently on the device? And how to reproduce this?

Could you check on the system log? If there is an added interface, the logs should show interface [interface_name] has been added, then we could check what happen at that time.

Moreover, is there any side effect by the empty interface?

    Thank you.

    James.

    Hi James,

    The router is running 4.70.
The interface disappeared after a reboot and it is not coming back now.
When it was there I didn't noticed anything in the log.
I also did a "show interfaces all" from ssh console but the ghost interface was not listed.
We have a 3G USB dongle attached to the router, it may cause the problem ?

    Thanks,Davy

Firefox is my usual drive for managing Zyxel Devices. And sometime struggles about cache and receiving commands from the device. For instance, firmware upgrade on Firewall keeps counting, never come back to login page when the reboot ended. Chrome did not have thati issue.
So... if the interface come back again, try another browser, or Firefox Incognito Mode.
(which is my usual drive but... that's a whole other story)

If you didn't see the interface from ssh console, then it could be a web browser cache.
As @mMontana suggested, you may try another browser or incognito mode.
    Thank you.
