I recently bought the device and I have a couple of questions.
Do I understand correctly that it does not aggregate the n78 5g band ?
When I use pci scan it returns empty .Why is that ?
If I choose the nr5g option instead of auto at cellular band menu I have no Internet.
Any help
thanks

My homepage shows 5 staples of 5 because of the strong 4G signal (B20 800mhz) i´ve locked.

  • Hi @geo_al,
check this article regarding your last question.
I have the same issue here in Spain with Movistar and Orange sim cards, both with data plan active and 5G support in the operator's networks.
I bougth the NR7101 Nebula edition, if you own the non Nebula edition, you may consider updating the firmware of both router and modem to solve some issues.
If you navigate to Broadband, Cellular band and disable "band management", you should be able to select "N78" band manually:

    Hope it helps ;)
    Kind regards

    Hello,

Auto allows the selection of mobile network operators running as New Radio Non Standalone Architecture (NR-NSA) with EN-DC (dual connectivity to both 4G LTE and 5G New Radio), which the Zyxel article calls 'Fake 5G' but which the operators might say is cost-effective 5G option on-top of what they already have.

NR-NSA is not all of 5G characteristics, but some of it in terms of throughput but not all the 5G features such as low latency.

    Kind Regards,
         Tony

    Hello @geo_al

    You're welcome.

I don't know much about 5G carrier aggregation beyond what I can Google.
          - https://www.techplayon.com/5g-carrier-aggregation-bandwidth-classes/#:~:text=Carrier%20Aggregation%20(CA)%20increases%20the,and%20in%20the%20FR2%20band. talks about it and says that there are different Bandwidth Classes as well.

Not sure what the NR7101 supports though, and how that maps onto your mobile network operator.
         - except that the NR7101 specifications say that it is Release 15 compliant, and Release 15 has specifications in it for 5G NR carrier aggregation.
          - the mobile network operator will decide which bands to aggregate in their network.
                 - so you may need to ask your operator.

    Kind regards,
         Tony

I ask because my phone does 5g aggregation on the same mobile network but not the zyxel.
Also if zyxel has Qualcomm x55 it is able to aggregate.
Because the phone aggregates it doubles the speed.
    Thanks again

    Hello @geo_al

Ok. According to figure 29 and table 9 in the user guide at https://download.zyxel.com/NR7101/user_guide/NR7101_Version%201.00.pdf the NR7101 will show information under SCC (secondary component carriers) if the device is doing carrier aggregation.

If there is nothing under SCC on the Cellular Information: Detailed Information page then the NR7101 is not doing carrier aggregation.

I hope that this is helpful.

    Kind regards,
         Tony

I found scc with 4g frequencies only in cellular page.
    No scc for n78
I live in Greece and I use COSMOTE only frequency n78
