First time setting up a NWA1123-ACv2 and I thought that there was software for local control. I'll probably use the portal but I would like to see the software too. Don't know where to find it.

Hello,

As I know Nebula device only needs to be registered in the Nebula Cloud then after connecting to the internet its good to go. This is the link for reference on how to register. But never heard of any software, are you referring to standalone mode?

I think I am referring to stand-alone. I'm guessing though that that means to just use the IP address of the device?

You can use AP's IP address of standalone to access its GUI directly or ZAC software to setup and configure the setting as below link:

Are you find ZON or ZAC tool?

ZON can configure most zyxel device, like switch, usg, AP...etc.

ZAC can easy configure multiple APs.

You have to enter some personal information, and then you will get the mail from zyxel which has a download link.

As @livealive and @IKLe mentioned that we support ZAC(Zyxel AP Configurator) and ZON (Zyxel ONE network) can be configured or use AP's IP address to access its GUI directly.

And you said that you probably use the portal, does it mean the captive portal redirect page ?
If so , captive portal is only supported when AP is a management mode which is managed by NXC or USG controller.
Or may I know your application scenario with portal?
