Does this happen only in bridge mode? I'm using a VMG8823-B50B as modem, firmware V5.13(ABEJ.5)C0, and I'm up to 85 days and counting.
-
Any news on this issue? Is there a planned firmware update?
-
Just out of curiosity. IIRC, on my old Netgear modem there was an option to use the default MAC address or to setup a custom MAC address.
-
I think it's a wind/infostrada model (italian ISP): they think it's a good idea to sell overpriced, locked-down devices that the user can't even upgrade. I'm not sure you can enable SNP via CLI.
-
After a factory reset, configuration (such as voip) is downloaded via tr-069; no need to worry, it is usually the first thing your ISP asks you to do anyway.
-
If everything else fails, you should be able to restore via factory reset.

I have VMG8823, but they have quite the same interface; I can choose only between "no security" and "wpa2-psk" (no wpa-only option). Maybe it was available in the previous firmware, but I'm not sure.

I think port 80 by default is in use by remote management. You could try using a different port (eg. external.ip.address:8088) and translate to port 80
-
I think it's a VMG8825, given the firmware version. The manual says you can use "No Security" or "WPA(2)-PSK"
-
I think it should work (I have VMG8823).

I'm afraid the problem seems to be the sercomm modem :(
-
What modem were you using before? Please check on the back of the modem if your "Home&Life Hub" actually is a Zyxel VMG8825 OR a Sercomm WD300: strangely enough, they share the same chassis and almost the same GUI, but it seems the Sercomm device suffers from a poor and bug-ridden firmware.

I'm not sure it's a firmware problem: you can already use a wind-branded zyxel on a non-wind line (e.g. Tim). Unless your ISP wants you to use its own devices.

I don't know. Do you really need ping? If you have a raspberry pi you could access to it via ssh.
