That’s not what your original post shows. I’m just looking at the information you provided.

@Vettalex - I’m not sure if this is your issue but you are using different load balance algorithms on the two switches. IP/MAC on one and just MAC on the other.

I also use Unifi access points with Zyxel switches and a Zyxel router/firewall. The best way I have found to address this concern is by using VLans and firewall rules to limit access in case someone does disconnect an AP and plug something else into the cable. Below I list some of the other steps you can take. But,…

@kukuman - yes I have. No IP address is provided by the USG1100 DHCP server when renew is attempted. New devices do not get IP addresses either. It is as if the DHCP server has stopped running.

@Zyxel_Charlie - any update on this issue?
-
I was planning on updating the firmware in two weeks. However I do not see anything about the issue in the release notes. In the past the issue only happened once every 3-4 months. This time it had not happened in at least 6 months.

Update - rebooting the XGS3700 switch stack caused the CPU utilization to drop to average levels below 15% and I am no longer seeing CPU Utilization over 100% messages in the log.

@Zyxel_Charlie - No. the same MAC address had been assigned an IP address in two different vLans using IP/MAC tables several months ago. Everything had been working fine. The error message appeared when I was defining a LAG on the USG1100. The only way to get the LAG created was to remove the IP address from one of the…

@Zyxel_Charlie - I thought this issue had been resolved with the date code firmware you had provided. However, today I needed to make a change to a LAG on my USG1100 and I got the Duplicate MAC Address error. The USG1100 was running the date code firmware. Let me know if there is information I can provide.

@Ace - Thanks for the suggestion. I had not tried enabling CPU protection. I have now. Maybe it will help me narrow it down to which port(s) traffic is the issue.

@Zyxel_Lucious 1. I checked the "snooping table" on the XGS3700. There are currently 83 devices in the table. Less than 100 is typical. Almost all devices are on the network permanently. Fewer than 15 devices leave from and return to the network. The lease time remaining on the devices averages at over 12 hours. In looking…

@Zyxel_Lucious - I am now seeing periods of CPU Utilization of over 100% every few days on my XGS3700 switch stack. Messages in the log like this: 2 Nov 06 21:49:13 IN system: CPU utilization is over 100 and keep 5 seconds, driver count = 34. * The stack consists of 3 XGS3700-24 switches and 1 XGS3700-48 HP switch. *…

@Zyxel_Emily - additional testing results: As reported above, the recommended configuration did not work. With the recommended configuration, with only GE4 or GE5 connected ("up") traffic seemed to flow normally. As soon as both GE4 and GE5 were both connected (both ports of LAG being used) intermittent traffic issues…
