For the production environment - yes, I totally agree. As an auxiliary router for home use, it is more than handy. I'm not a big fan of minimizing the carbon footprint at any cost, but throwing away a useful device is an unnecessary waste. Anyway, I'm sure someone still has such old firmware in their collection :)
