Reading that tutorial and the comments here, a question pops into my mind: Why flash the kernel at all if Debian and omv run on the stock kernel as well? Are there any contraindications to run Debian on the zyxel kernel? 

as i checked in right now to post another problem i just wanted to say in here, that my sda is still the same and its got 66000 hours now and still working flawless.

I don't have a enough storage place to make a full backup, so this sadly isn't an option. Otherwise you just confirmed my best bet, so I'm gonna follow that route unless a qualified counter voice arises within the next 12 hours ( I'm off to work now) Thanks for your input .
