The backup job was completed last night at 2022-11-15 04:40 And when browsing my External USB disk I find 589 .dar-files and a single .lst-file

Hmm, a bit wierd perhaps, but when I inserted the other two disks and rebooted the NAS, the Volume was again identified as 'degraded', and the box started beeping. When I opened the Storage Manager the webb interfaced showed a degraded volume, just as it did last time before I tried to repair the RAID with my latest disk.…

Ok, here's the result;

Hmm... I hotpulled the disks :s maybe not the smartest way? - Sorry! After rebooting the NAS (with only the ddrescued disk 3 inserted) I get; Rebooting again with only disk 2 inserted; Rebooting again with only disk 4 inserted Disk 2 is device 1Disk 3 is device 3Disk 4 is device 2

Ok, thanks for your input - quite a bit to take in :) I removed all disks except the ddrescued one (Disk3); But it says "Device Role : Active device 3" you wrote: So now I don't know if that disk is the problem or not?

I've rebooted the NAS and now I can reach the WUI again; The array is down, all disks are identified as hot spares. What about removing Disk 1, 2 and 4 and then try to run e2fsck on Disk 3 (the one I ddrescued)?

OMG - this never ends... I ran the dmesg command - you'll find it attached. So another of the old disks are gone? So I need to reboot, to see what's wrong with the array?

Ok, I've inserted the new disk now and repaired the RAID via the WUI. I started it last night and this morning the re-synching had reached 40 %. But now almost 12 hours later, the WUI doesn't respond when I try to log on. But I can log on via Putty... Is it safe to reboot the box? Or are there some other way to see how the…

Ok, here's the result, tried it 3 times; 1st try; 2nd try; 3rd try;

Tried that... and that seems to have turned things in a new direction =) I then tried to mount it manually Then I rebooted the NAS and opened up the WUI; Tonight my delivery from Amazon Prime arrives with a brand new Seagate Ironwolf 3 TB disk. I will insert that as Disk1 and hopefully it should be possible to repair the…

I've inserted the 2 old good disks together with the new copy and rebooted the NAS. It starts beeping and when opening the WUI it says the RAID is crashed/Full. And when examining the status of the array; and Would the same three commands work now as well?
-
Haha, thanks for your input! I'll be away for a couple of days now, but what would be the next step? - Mount the new disk together with the other two working disks. And then reboot the NAS? Are there any specific commands etc that's of interest at this stage?

@Mijzelf whats your thoughts? Now it is scraping failed blocks... and that seems to be very time consuming;100 kB took about 1 hour. What to do? Consider it done, or keep it going?

Now at 84,2% and a few read errors found;
