It turned out my 2.4ghz channels were not operational on many of my APs until rebooting or changing radio settings. I confirmed this with wlan scanner on my phone. Applied this fix and at least now all my aps show the 2.4ghz channel too.

Turned out i was suffering from this. I have 4 nwa50x aps all in firmware 7.0.0 and only one of them was still operating 2.4ghz channels. Will this be fixed in the mainline versions so that we can enable automatic ugprades again?

Yes, dcs causes them to disconnect in the first place. But the problem in my case is they never succeed in connecting to any AP (and not even trying the nearest one) until i go and refresh one of the radio settings. Yes, autotalli is the nearest one. I only have shelly clients there. If i bring my phone near the AP it does connect to 5ghz even while shellies are failing. I sent a message about the site details.
