Today an USG40W (with SSL VPN enabled) strated freezing up and needed to be restarted manually every 4-5 hours. The unit has had an uptime of over a year without any problems up until today, so I guess this is not a coincidence?

A wizard is great for something as complex as VPN – but it should not mess with the finely tuned results of days of work every time you require its' assistance. You can always create a VPN connection manually. That way it won't mess with your existing config.

Thank you very much @Zyxel_Melen, if I understand it correctly: In terms of outgoing traffic: whether a port does not send out packets belonding to a VLAN is determined by being a Forbidden member of that VLAN. In terms of incoming traffic: whether a port discards incoming packets belonding to a VLAN is determined by being…

Thanks, @Zyxel_Melen. One more question regarding Ingress Filtering: So if I turn this on, the port discards any incoming packets that do not belong to the PVID VLAN? Isn't this the same as if I make the port Forbidden for all VLANs except the one set as PVID? In other words, what happens if a port receives a packet…

Dear @Zyxel_Melen, Thank you for the step-by-step instruction. I have some follow-up questions: Step 3: Shouldn't I also set ports 3-24 as "Forbidden" for VLAN 2? Also, what's the difference between "Forbidden" and "Excluded"? I haven't found any info in the manual… (EDIT: I've found that it has to do with protocols such…

Thanks for the instructions. Currently I have: GS1900 switch with only LAN devices connected (not using VLANs) Modem from ISP connected to firewall (via a PoE injector) I want to get rid of the PoE injector: GS1900 switch with LAN devices connected (ports 3-24) Modem from ISP connected to port 1 (powered via PoE) Firewall…

Hi Melen, can you confirm that the newer HW revision of GS1900 (named GS1900v2?) does support the Smart Fan feature?
-
Perhaps try the latest firmware (4.73)?

Actually, the USG series has the final firmware version v4.73 planned late Nov/early Dec: https://community.zyxel.com/en/discussion/10263/is-there-any-eol-schedule-for-zywall-usg-series/p4

Hi, could you please post links for the fixed WK firmware releases for USG60 and USG40W? Thanks!
-
@Zyxel_Stanley Hi Stanley, is there any ETA on the next official firmware release for USG60? Thanks!
-
@RapidEye_IT, @alehzn I agree... I've been using ZyXEL devices for the last 10 years, and for the last couple of years firmware releases had introduced new bugs (password lockout, NAT 80/443 port problems, WiFi dropping just to name a few), so I always wait a couple of months after a FW is released before using it in…

@Zyxel_Stanley In another thread (https://businessforum.zyxel.com/discussion/2652/new-firmware-wk19-r88384) you said that the WK19 firmware only addresses a vulnerability in the hotspot function: Now you're saying that the WK19 firmware includes at least one other change (in SIP ALG). Can you elaborate on what other…

Yes, turn on the connectivity check for the WAN interface and then set up an email trigger for "Connectivity Check" category.

Thanks for the info, @Zyxel_Stanley. When can we expect the next (official) firmware release for the USG firewall family? The last two releases were hotfixes, without official changelogs included.
