  • Hi, Thanks for replying. When I mentioned the 5.11 firmware, I meant I tested all firmwares down to 5.11 version!! So all firmwares versions from the newest V5.21(AAZF.9)C0 down to 5.11 have the same problem!!
  • More data:The Nas326 just crashed during the backup using the 5.11 firmware. Dmesg didn't show anything and when the NAS crashes, I cannot access its IP anymore. So I think it could be a problem that was always present in all versions or it is a hardware problem. If it is a hardware problem, it is present since day 1 as…
  • Thanks, So far tested the version 5.20 and same problem. Now testing 5.11. Could not get any clue with the dmesg so far.
  • Hello, Thanks for replying. As each test takes about 15 hours to finish, I am thinking about downgrading the firmware. I tried, but the gui tells me that I cannot downgrade! Is there a way that I can downgrade the firmware? Maybe trough SSH?
  • More data: Tried to make another backup. This time the Nas326 crashed before the backup was finished! I was able to turn it off by pressing the front power button several times. Seems it was completely frozen!! If there is any logs I can check it would be great! Maybe if I could downgrade to a known good firmware or just…

I made a full reset of the NAS to factory defaults. After that I created a Basic Raid volume for Disk1 and a Basic Raid volume for disk 2.After that I created a share named volume1 for disk1 and a share…

So I don't think it could be timestamps as during the validation(it takes about the same time of the backup) it finds a lot o…
  • Any tips for how to solve the issue?
  • Thanks for replying. Both Acronis and Macrium have an option to verify/validate the backups.
  • Hello again, I installed OMV on an old PC and it accepts the option vfs objects = dirsort and works perfectly. Do you know a simple method of installing OMV on the NAS326?
  • Hello Sir_Mc_Tod, May I ask you how to run OMV on stock kernel? How to run Debian without flashing the stock kernel? Do you have a tutorial?
  • Hello Mijzelf, Thanks again for replying. Yes, I did restart samba after I changed the smb.conf and it didn't work. I tried your suggested static solution, it moved the the files ok, but when I tested on the network, the files didn't sort alphabetically. Maybe samba pick the files randomly to show the list if vfs objects =…
  • Hello, Thanks for replying. I have a Synology NAS and it does have an option to sort alphabetically. I put this in the smb.conf: vfs objects = dirsort Does anyone have any tip to make it work?
