What type of USB drive do you use? HDD or flash? If it's HDD, have you tried USB Y-cable / external power supply to ensure the power? In my experience, lack of power may cause HDD instability.

For gmail, seems you should enable "Allow less secure APPs" to make NAS go through. https://kb.zyxel.com/KB/searchArticle!viewDetail.action?articleOid=014956&lang=EN

I'm using Zyxel zCloud which can access from LAN/WAN, but for WAN you should set port forwarding in advance.
-
What browser are you using? Try clean the browser cache?
-
I would use port-forwarding on router to assign common ports (port 80, 21, etc.) to the static IP of NAS.
-
It should work between Zyxel ones since they're the same system.
-
Yes, just format them and create as 4 Basic volumes.
-
What OS did you install for those 4 HDDs? NAS is linux-base system, which means HDD in other system format may not just "plug and play".
-
The backup speed depends on your MAC performance and network speed (physical link is more recommended) , NAS is just a storage space in this case. The folder should be assigned in Backup Planner.
-
So, is the backup process completed now? or you just cut it off?
-
As far as I know, the reset button only deals with system configuration/setting, data on disks will not be affected at all.
-
Backup for data HDD in NAS? how about RAID5 or RAID6?
-
Have you tried using other device (PC or NB) to watch video? If the problem occurred only when using smartphone, the cause may not be the NAS326 but your smartphone.
-
Try remove all HDD and reset again? maybe the problem is on disks.
-
Do you mean only the external hdd not coming back from sleep? what model is the USB HDD?
