You could also just disable B1 from the selection. That would leave just B3, B7 and B20. That would be one way to stop it from ever being used for your primary connection. True, it would also mean it can't then be used for the CA but... might be worth testing.

Have you tried the latest V7 firmware? I was getting random modem drops on V6 but V7 seems fine.

I used Orbi with the Zyxel NR5101 and NR7101 in the past. I eventually ditched the Orbi due to stability / firmware issues and lack of options. I've been using the Asus zenwifi pro xt12 mesh nodes for 6 months now. Work absolutely fine. I actually have the NR7101 setup as Primary WAN with the NR5101 as "hot-standby",…

Bob, can you expand on what the network monitoring setting does please? I to have it currently disabled, is it recommended to be enabled and if so why? Thanks. EDIT: Found it in the guide: "Use this field to allow the Zyxel Device to try reconnecting to the base station if the cellular connection is lost. After the third…

Must admit I do see packet errors and get issues with buffering and I too am using NR-NSA on the latest firmware / modem module. Yet speeds are similarly quick, depending on conditions 100 - 300Mbps.

Hey Tom, you say "When it was working it was in router mode using manual apn settings. Then it just stopped working. " Is is possible that the SIM card is corrupt in some way? Your provider could ship you out a replacement in 1-2 days and you could try swapping it out. Weird for it to just stop working. It does just look…

Nebula is just a centralised web console for configuring and monitor multiple devices over multiple locations, etc. For a home device, I'd personally say you do not need it. You'd just manage the device via the normal built-in interface on the Router. Thanks.

Hi, do we know if this has come to fruitation with the NR7101? I note in the Cellular Band setting on latest FW, I can now specifically choose NR5G-NSA for the preferred access technology whereas previously it had to be left on Auto. Probably not related. Would be keen to hear more on the 2 component carrier (2CC)…

Well 4 days since factory reset and so far no further LTE module disconnects on the NR7101. I think going forwards if the FW is updated - then do a reset, regardless. Safest way.

Hi Daniel, I had similar and I believe the fix was to factory reset the unit. It then behaved correctly and IP Passthrough would enable without the message. I think I was on the same FW version as you at the time as well.

Ah. User Guide appears to be wrong. Found this - https://support.zyxel.eu/hc/en-us/articles/360021412820-NR7101-How-to-set-bridge-mode-cellular-IP-passthrough- and it is under Network Setting > Broadband > Cellular APN. ;)

Sorry I did have another question, I've gone to see where IP Passthrough is on the NR7101. The "Remote Management" section states... Make sure to enable IP Passthrough in Network Setting > Broadband > Cellular IP Passthrough. I have gone to the location it mentions but I have no "Cellular IP Passthrough menu option? Page…

Thanks Stiel for the explination - I understand now. :)

Hi. Well yeah that sets it for your LAN clients via DHCP. I do not use the Zyxel for this - I use my mesh Orbi units instead. However this does not answer the question as to why, as shown in my screenshots, the NR5101 WAN interface options allow for IGMP Proxy, MTU, Encapsulation and DNS setting alteration under the WAN…

Here is the section in the NR5101 / NR7101. If you click "modify" you can then amend the WAN settings. Here is what happens on the NR5101. (Note the DNS server section, MTU, Encapsulation, all available to edit) Now here is the same thing on the NR7101. Where are all the other options?
