Are you using root or admin for access? Trying with root access and using SFTP to upload the file might help with this.

Consider trying different ports and another Cat 5e cable. This might help at times.

Try updating WinSCP or using the FileZilla application. I think upgrading to the latest version of WinSCP might help.

The data is saved on the disk/volume but not on the NAS itself. If you only have the NAS without the disk, the data will not be restored. How do you check the data on the NAS?

If it is not acceptable, I think you could either set the same timezone or manually add an NTP server for the NAS.

To check if the file has been removed, you can log in to the device using the SSH command via account and password. Navigate to the video file directory under the NAS volume and verify if the files have been deleted by command ls -la.

If you are using JBOD on the first disk, you will not be able to add another disk as RAID 1.

I think it would be safer not to publish your NAS on the internet. Instead, you can place a router in front of it and use NAT on the router to access your NAS.

unsure whether unpacking the firmware file might cause any issues. When upgrading the firmware, I will ensure to keep the original file naming intact.

Armor behind modem? Does Armor receive its IP address from the modem's DHCP server, or does it require a PPPoE connection to obtain an IP? If it uses DHCP, you might consider assigning Google's DNS (8.8.8.8) to the client. If using PPPoE, ensure to verify if the dialing process is successful or not.
