  • The Backup volume is actually the RAID volume that I created. That's just the name I chose for it. (It was a virgin install and I didn't install Backup Planner on it this time). So I tried again. Another Virgin install - deleted volume - full Factory reset - created new RAID volume, this time I called it NSA325 for clarity…
  • OK so I started again with a virgin box and created a single internal volume called Backup volume. I used Konsole in Ubuntu. Installed your repo, installed Entware. Nothing else installed. Created a user with admin rights called Jason Using the NAS web interface I created a Share called Jason Share Owner = Jason Permission…
  • Its really odd but It's not a train crash if this doesn't get sorted. My main aim was to use it as a backup target and, thanks to you, it is working as such.
  • I tried the chown, rebooted both computer, nas and Internet box (acting as dns server) no change I am using a couple of empty disks to test this all out so I started again with a virgin NAS. (deleted the internal volume, total hardware reset, created a new volume) I first did all the backup stuff from my other post . . .…
  • My apologies. I have corrected the instructions, Thank you
  • Ahhhh. Thank you. I was being very stupid. • So I can see these BackupPlanner_001_arm_008.zpkg BackupPlanner_001_arm_009.zpkg BackupPlanner_001_arm_010.zpkg BackupPlanner_001_arm_011.zpkg BackupPlanner_001_arm_012.zpkg BackupPlanner_001_arm_013.zpkg Which one do I download and how do I install it? Sorry for such a basic question
  • Thank you I will look at that The dropbear definitely did something. before I installed it, the Synology backup was not able to connect to the NSA310. Directly after installing dropbear, the Synology backup connected with no problem. I now have a separate issue while installing the Samba upgrade, but I will create a…
  • Hi yes I installed after your suggestion. This was the url in the web_prefix file
  • Fantastic. Thank you so much for the info!! I have installed dropbear and I have now successfully made a backup from my Synology DS118 to my Zyxel NSA310. I also successfully made a restore. So that is really great :) All I need to do now is work out how to get the NSA325-V2 configured as a rsync so I can use that one…
  • Quick update, I am not getting very far with the NSA310. I can't seem to activate ssh. I used the http://MYIP/rMYNUMBER,/adv,/cgi-bin/remote_help-cgi?type=backdoor link and got the white page, but when I try to log in using PuTTY I am still getting connection refused. Any suggestions? Thanks, Jason
  • Thanks for your reply and clarification. I also have an old NSA310 that I haven't used for many years. I booted it up today and I have discovered that it does actually have backup planner already on it. Long shot question . . . is it compatible with/is there any easy(ish) way of getting that running on the NSA325-V2? the…
  • I don't know why but Windows 11 seems to be rubbish at finding things on the network, my Windows 11 pc doesn't see half the things that my Windows 10 machines see, all on the same network.
