You can create user on the NAS. I think for the IP restriction to the NAS, you can set up some access control if you have a router above.

I try to log out and login account on Zyxel drive app, and the photo can be uploaded. You can have a try.

What model are you using? If there is a web gui, there might be somewhere else to open the port.

You can access to the NAS by using ssh and remove the folder one by one. Do not remove a big file at once, it may take a lot of time.

Try to ping the device IP address to check if the device is still alive, or maybe IP chagned. You can check the privilege of the folder on NAS. And type \\192.168.1.63 to find your folder.

You can download the latest driver from Zyxel Website. Are you using laptop or mobile to search the 5ghz internet? If your laptop are not able to see the 5ghz internet, how about the mobile?

Yes, you're right, it's more security to have a router or firewall above the NAS nowdays.

You can contact your ISP to check what's your IP you would get.If it is static IP you can set it up locally on you NAS and then connect to ISP.Or if you have router above the NAS, you can do NAT / port forwarding on the router for the specific port.

You can enable the upnp settings on the above router, enable upnp settings on NAS, then enable WebDAV feature on NAS326. Could you share the screenshot of the error ?Is there any log on the NAS? When NAS using static IP, you're not able to connect WebDAV?How about using dhcp mode on NAS?

The default app center do not have Rsync package in it. You can find some packages on the internet that support Rsync command.

If your device is still with warranty, you could try do the RMA.Once you open / disassemble the outer plastic case.You'll lose the warranty of the device.

If the specification of the USB require1.5A, you needed to rely on an external power supply to be able to use.What do you mean the windows will not even find and access the router unit?Do you mean you're not able to access web gui on windows 10?

What model of the external harddrive are you using? What is the input and output of the harddrive?

I think it is hardware issue, if the device is still with warranty, you can do RMA.
