It's not practical to run cable from the modem to a laptop and I want to turn off the wifi from the zyxel so it doesn't interfere with the other wifi in the building. The whole point of this thread is to access the zyxel management gui via the primary lan.

"I think if a bridge modem is working on his adress yours is 192.168.1.253 it is not possible to reach it in the same time via a Laptop connected to another Lan port of the device ?" I'm afraid I don't follow what you're saying here. As far as I understand it, it should be possible to reach Zyxel at 192.168.x.x from…

@Peter2 "To reach it via Lan4 connected to your local Network via Ethernet cable is another Question" That is THE question (and the point of this thread).
-
My primary LAN is 192.168.1.x. The "default" interface group for the Zyxel is 192.168.11.253. The new "Management" interface group is 192.168.5.1. Plugging laptop directly into the Port 4 of the Zyxel I can reach the management gui on 192.168.11.253 or 192.168.5.1, but not from any PC on the main LAN 192.168.1.x. I have a…

The page doesn't load. Pinging 192.168.5.1 from the PC (192.168.1.4) produces "Request timed out".

"WWan as pseudo interface"? Is this what you mean? What do you mean by "Then give a single free IP Adress of your Net without DHCP or so and connect with a second Ethernet cable to your Net" ? Which Net? I have the new Interface Group setup without DHCP like this: So now I connected cable from that LAN4 port into my…

How?

@DominikLOL thanks for posting screenshots. I don't understand what you mean by "I had to make another WAN interface that works sort of like LAN but needs masquerading/LAN otherwise it wouldn't work" I'm not sure I can replicate because my router is Synology RT6600ax, which allows network interfaces to be created and…

"what release number of Synology Router Manager you are running" Version: 1.3.1-9346 Update 9 "what happens if you try 0.0.0.0 as the gateway address in the static route dialogue?" It doesn't seem to accept it: "which port the link between the VMG and the Synology RT6600ax is on? Is it the blue WAN port or the 2.5G WAN/LAN…

Unfortunately, that didn't seem to work. When I try to add the static route like this: …I get this warning: …and when I click 'Apply', it doesn't change from 'disabled'

Hi, when you say "interface the VMG3925-B10 is connected to.", are you simply referring to the ethernet ports? An ethernet cable is connected between the VMG3925-B10 LAN1 to the Synology router WAN port
-
Thanks for your reply Peter. I have 60+devices connecting to the router, so makes more sense to leave that default and change the modem. I don't follow the 'create a new home net ' suggestion. Is there a tutorial somewhere or would you mind describing the steps?
-
Thanks for the reply Tony. The primary router is. Synology Rt6600ax
-
Yes. the VMG3925-B10 can be pinged with a regular ethernet cable (I don't have a cross over), from any of the VMG3925-B10 LAN ports if the Pc connected directly to it has an IP address in the same range 192.168.1.x. But when the VMG3925-B10 is connected from any of its LAN ports to the primary router, then no, it can't be…

Can anybody confirm they can reach their device on the management IP through another router?
