Hi no, the web interface port is not open on the router, i haven't had much chance to investigate since my print function went down i had to revert back to smb1 but previously i did seem to notice the disks always appeared to be awake whenever i tried to access them, there appeared to be no spinup lag so i had assumed…

sure, have attached one here, i had disabled pretty much everything unnecess and a thing i would prefer not to but it made no difference even after waiting a couple of hours.

not sure i can make sense of this, the log shows constant access via the cache being flushed and the journal updating, this seems to occur even when only the disk monitor is being used. I have been thru and disabled via webmin or tweak util, pretty much everything but essentials. and surely that util should log to ram to…

ty, will try that now!

hi, thanks for that but been hit by a side effect, the drives do not appear to be powering down which i believe is the purpose of this^, yet the drives power control was working fine prior, not sure if related to finishing the metarepo setup or the smb3 install. I have checked it is enabled in the web interface and is set…

if you want to access the shares on a vanilla 320 you will need that on, you should be able to http://192.168.1.5 to the web admin page but it could be another device is using that causing confusion, try removing that address from your dhcp pool if it is in there.

many thanks for help, i had tried the https in my experimentation but had already removed that. Hi think i have traced it to some idiot appending a + symbol to the end of the url for the repository:blush: , removed that and i am now getting a listing that includes the entware package from reading another thread i got the…

Hi ty for the response, yes the web_prefix file is there and as you described i did notice in some experimentation that metarepos re-creates it as that when it starts if the file is altered or missing. The log file says it has failed to download a tmp file but as i am not sure of the logging snytax and not used linux for a…

Thank you the newer version sent by pm went on no problem, Unfortunately it did not cure the strange fault with the powerline problem but at least i now know it is probably faulty and can bin it.

there appears to be an accepted answer with no published resolution to this?? bit against the whole principle of a "forum"

mine is just standard linux filesystem (think it was ext3) so attach it to a pc but boot off a linux live usb stick or cd such as ubuntu. someone used to publish a ext3 driver for windows but it wasn't very stable when i tried it several years ago.

Hi that was close i was about to bin this in anger! 1. it was bought in store retail 2. the existing firmware installed on the modem is 3.40(AZB.0) dated 20/7/2007 the updated firmware i obtained is marked 3.40(APD.2 C0) dated 28/11/2007 but the modem denies the firmware is for that model despite your com and de ftp sites…

I contacted Zyxel about my issue and they weren't interested because of it's age. The support guy wasn't very knowledgeable about technical issues and pretty much refused to escalate or even ask the question of the engineering dept. Very disappointing indeed.
