Hi Mijzelf, I believe you've nailed it again. I found it does have parted installed and it worked. Indeed, not much free space left: How much free space do you think is left from the parted output below? Model: Seagate ST16000NM001G-2K (scsi) Disk /dev/sda: 15259648MiB Sector size (logical/physical): 512B/512B Partition…

14954.00 GB is given by the Smart reading after I installed the smart package.
-
I can confirm capacity given by SMART and when you hover your mouse over the disk under volume is 14.5TB, not TiB. 14954.00 GB in smart. Wired as with the previous volume I could see them as 16TB and I'm confident they are 16TB, - there's 1.5 TB lost.
-
How else I could check if there's any physical storage left on the disks?

Do you know what protocol and service does myZyxel cloud agent use?

I've installed the packages again and SMART is back and working as expected, however, I still have the Expand option next to the Volume. Other than that, all is working as expected. In regards to memory, many OS, do use swap - hdd as an extension of memory, when you look at the partitions, a portion of the disks is used…

Thank you so much again great info. When you hover your mouse over the disks it says: Capacity 14.55 TB, if I were to take the capital B as Bytes instead of bites, the it matches your calculcation. Can you please expand what the: (16*10^12)/2^40 represented? Alright, it looks better but still, I cannot work out why it is…

Although both 16TB hdd are smart and I used to see their SMART info, I only see Volume and not the SMART information underneath - any reasons why that is no longer available?

I need help, although after finishing the resync, the volume is healthy and it shows 14.8TB in size, I do still have the expand option next to it. I've clicked that and I got this error: e2fsck 1.41.14 (22-Dec-2010) Pass 1: Checking inodes, blocks, and sizes Error allocating block bitmap (4): Memory allocation failed…

Hi Mijself, I did what I had in mind last night and so far all looks promising, except the volume is no in resync and it takes ages to complete. It's been over 13h and it is only 39%. Here's what I found about re-synchronising: Resynchronizing or recovering a RAID 1 volume that was down is done block-by- block, so the time…

Thanks, hmm... 'if you offer the NAS empty 16TB disks, it should use GPT' I always love the 'should'. Do you think this was tested by anyone in Zyxel dev team or their QA? Can you share the details about how to mound one of the the 2TB disk from command line while that is plugged into the NAS, even if degraded and would…

Can I please get a confirmation to the latest idea I have left - copying all the data from the 2TB hdd to various hdds in my home, then remove all partitions from the 16TB disks one by one in an external enclosure connected to a laptop running linux but still leave both 2x 16TB disks having a GPT partition table, then…

Hi Mijzelf, Thank you for responding. I guess you nailed it, indeed the partition of the source hdd the 2TB one (disk1) is MBR while the destination - what I'm repairing the raid1 to (disk2) is GPT. Model: WD20EARX-00PASB0 (scsi) Disk /dev/sda: 2000GB Sector size (logical/physical): 512B/512B Partition Table: msdos Number…

Thank you, Mijzelf. I was hoping you'd see my kind request for help. I've tried that and I get cannot open sda. I then tried parted -l and partition is unknown. It might be locked due to repair started? I have a feeling it will be MBR. I will try once the repair completes. I'm affraid, I will need to copy all data on a…
