  No. It's the same hardware. The only difference is the color of the disk trays. (yellow on the 540, black on the 542).

  If you have ffp, I guess you have shell access. The setting can be found in /usr/local/zy-pkgs/etc/MetaRepository.conf.

  Yes. In that case it's not your ISP or DNS, and so it's the NAS. Does it have a fixed IP address? Are you sure you used the right DNS and gateway?When you login over ssh, can you ping ftp2.…
