  • It's challenge to do this. NAS is Linux-based, and you have root privileges. If you're familiar with setting up basic iptables routing rules and can modify things to prevent the NAS from resetting the configuration, it could work. However, adding a device in front of the NAS would be an easier solution.
  • A simple way to protect your NAS is by placing a firewall/router in front of it and allowing access only from specific IP addresses. If your NAS is using a private IP instead of a public one, you may also need to ensure that devices on the same subnet are properly checked.
  • I think the NAS can only register on https://mycloud.zyxel.com, not on other websites.
  • When you log into the NAS, you have root access, which essentially gives you full control over the system. However, as far as I know, some basic command/services might be removed from the NAS. You could try downloading additional packages that might help you restart the services.
  • It seems that after a reboot, the configuration may be overwritten by a daemon or script. Perhaps you could create a script in a file that is not deleted, and schedule it to run periodically to ensure the configuration is applied on the device?
  • didn't think I had left so many comments
  • Which websites would you like to register the NAS on?
  • The issue has been resolved, and it is working now. However, it seems that Google has changed their policy, as the option to enable less secure apps is no longer available in Google accounts. This means the account that enabled the less secure will still work. The account does not enable the option will not work.
  • Make suree that the NAS is on the same IP address subnet as your network. Additionally, the NAS should have the ability to access the internet.
  • Not sure if the new version of macOS supports this. Since the NAS has an older version, it can use Time Machine with the older macOS version, but I'm uncertain whether the latest version is compatible.
  • Check if your firmware is up to date, and ensure that your NAS is not exposed to the public network. Avoid using a public IP address for your NAS to reduce the risk of attacks from the internet. It's also advisable to place the NAS behind a router or firewall for added protection against external threats.
  • As far as I know, it is based on the first volume you created, and it is not possible to change the file via a web browser.

  • Make sure to update to the latest firmware and verify that the Dropbox app is also up to date.
  • You can separate the Wi-Fi connections by giving different SSID names to the 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands. Have PC2, PC3, and the iPad 2017 connect to the 2.4GHz SSID and see if that helps. Alternatively, you might try switching the security mode to WPA3 and see if that improves the situation.
  • That sounds really frustrating! It’s strange that the recovery isn’t working. In my experience, pressing the hard reset button before powering it on and waiting for 15-20 seconds might help. Good luck!
