What is your file system type for the HDD in master? Normally, if the HDD is basic then it should be detect and mount to backup NAS. Did you try reboot?

MAC has the terminal tool embedded, so you can the tool by searching "terminal". Then type "ssh nas_ip" or "telnet nas_ip" to access your NAS540. Login info is the same as admin/password.

Hi Zyy, The NAS you can put the maximum 4x12TB in, so your concern of 4x8TB WD RED drives is sured, and this part is not controled by firmware, just the information no update in your country. But the most important part is the maximum size per volume is 16TB.

As I know, the copy process is running in the background and there is not the way to see the realtime progress and percentage. You can only check the disk space and take time to wait till the copy done.

There are some ways to access NAS as CIFS, FTP and file browser in web management page. The simpler way is with CIFS, then you can type \\NAS_IP or \\nas540 into your address bar in the file explorer as below, and you can mount it as the network drive:

When the steady beep occurred is meaning your HDD now has problem and need to check if there is any health problem such as bad sector.And you need to repair it or replace a new one. If you used RAID 1 with 2 HDDs, and one of both had problem, but still can access the data, then you should copy/backup data first.
