Feature Request: Immediate DHCP Renewal for IP Passthrough Mode
Hello Zyxel Team and Community,
I’d like to submit a feature request regarding the behavior of the IP passthrough mode on Zyxel routers, specifically the NR5101.
Current Behavior: I have a setup where a Unifi UDM Pro is connected to the Zyxel router's LAN1/WAN port, with the Zyxel configured in IP passthrough mode. The issue arises when the mobile broadband connection reconnects, causing the ISP to assign a new public IP address. In this case, the Zyxel router obtains the new IP, but the UDM Pro does not pick up the change immediately and continues to use the old IP address until it renews the DHCP lease (which can take up to 10 minutes). This results in an internet connection downtime, which could be avoided.
From my understanding, the Zyxel router, being aware of the new public IP, does not relay this change to the downstream device immediately. Instead, it waits for the UDM Pro to request a DHCP renewal on its own. This behavior feels counterintuitive because the Zyxel router is already aware of the updated IP, and there’s a significant delay before the downstream device realizes it needs to renew.
Feature Request: Would it be possible to implement a feature (either as a default behavior or an optional setting) where the Zyxel router proactively relays the new IP assignment to the downstream device as soon as the mobile broadband reconnects? This could minimize the connection downtime that occurs when the ISP renews the public IP, as the downstream router would be immediately notified.
Reasoning: Given that cellular networks are inherently prone to occasional disruptions, I believe this behavior would benefit a significant portion of your users who rely on IP passthrough mode for their network configurations. Reducing the downtime during IP renewals would improve the overall user experience.

I'm deploying NWA50BE in France in an installation using a router from Orange where it is possible to have accented characters in the SSID - e.g. <l'archiprêtré_invités>
It would be good to be able to use the same SSID on the AP.

SAML integration to Microsoft Entra ID with VPN authentication
We would like to request the implementation of SAML 2.0 support in the Zyxel USG H Series firewalls to enable Client VPN authentication via Microsoft Entra ID.
Currently, achieving this setup requires our customers to deploy a costly Site-to-Site VPN to Azure and maintain Microsoft Entra Domain Services, which adds complexity and expense. Competing vendors, such as Fortinet, offer native support for SAML 2.0 in their firewalls, making it significantly easier to integrate with modern identity providers like Microsoft Entra ID.
We believe that adding SAML 2.0 support to Zyxel’s product line would greatly enhance its competitiveness and usability in modern cloud-integrated environments.

NR7101 - Downgrade R13A04 to R13A02
Hello Everyone
Here on the forum several files have been shared that allow incremental downgrades such as:
"RG502QEAAAR13A02M4G-RG502QEAAAR11A07M4G" and "RG502QEAAAR11A06M4G-RG502QEAAAR11A03M4G"
it's possible to have also the downgrade:
"RG502QEAACR13A04M4G_ZYXEL-RG502QEAACR13A02M4G_ZYXEL" ?
It would be very important to have it because unfortunately since I installed the last module I have encountered a lot of instability:
- during the renewal of the IP from my provider which happens every 24 hours, sometimes the connectivity does not go back up (with any other version of the module it did not happen)
- sometimes the cell lock does not work and I am forced to reboot (even if I wait 10 minutes)
- I can only use the cell band using a workaround (it is necessary to select at least one N band, if I want to have the specific bands for me, if I do not do it, the cell band does not work)

[USG Flex H Series] - Internal NTP Server
Hello everyone,
as a new feature request, can be usefull to install an NTP Server inside the USG Flex H firewall.
In this way, if you block internet connection for a device, it can synchronize own clock/timezone information directly from the firewall without using internet at all.
The NTP Server can also used as time source for all the devices, as single point of truth.

DHCP Lease Time Adjustment for Nebula Mobile Router
@PeterUK proposes that the DHCP lease time for passthrough devices, specifically the Nebula mobile router, be adjustable.

XGS1210/XGS1250 - Port Descriptions
Hi,
I have both of the above switches, really good bits of kit - they do everything I need them to do. The only nagging issue is the lack of ability to label the ports, whilst it doesn't stop things working and isn't a game stopper in any way, it makes it a pain trying to admin.
Some of the most basic switches I've worked with, not even GbE ones (D-link etc) offer the ability to label the ports - so please could this seriously be considered as a Firmware enhancement?
