For The default Vlan? What is the difference? No issue to test, I just want to understand the logic
-
Red Lines: Unagged traffic (at least on paper) Blue lines: Trunks/Tagged traffic (at least on paper)

Yes. Router port 2 has VLANS 1,2,3 as tagged, connected to Switch port 1 which has VLANS 1,2,3 TAGGED AP has port 1 as VLAN 1,2,3 AS tagged, connected to Switch port 5 which has VLANS 1,2,3 TAGGED. WiFi ssids are under vlan 2,3 work just fine. From a any PC at the lan I can access the switch and vice versa. AP port 2,3,4,5…

WIFIs SSIDs are assigned to VLANs. And all WIFI clients take IP access the internet etc. The issue is with the "PVID 1" clients, aka clients that are connected to non-vlan ports of the AP.

Yes, but even if DHCP is not working, if I set a static IP on my PC, I expect it to reach the other end. Because of the PVID. No? Of course. But the port is configured to accept all types of packets: As you see, Ingress is disabled. Also, I have enabled VLAN Trunk in an attempt to fix the issue. All in all, I need to…

I return to this topic since I have troubles with the setup. A brief summary: I use the following setup: OpenWrt router (VLAN aware/VLANs enabled & configured) —> Zyxel GS1900 8HP, port 1 OpenWrt router, acting as AP, VLAN Aware, VLANs configured —> Zyxel GS1900 8HP, port 5 All other ports in the Zyxel are connected to…

Many thanks to both of you. If anyone is interested, ports 1,5 are connected to the main router and another openwrt-based AP and they are VLAN aware. PoPort 8 is another switch I plan to integrate that's why I asked about the storage VLAN.
-
I don't need port-based VLANs, or at least I haven't planned to segregate the swutch ports like this. I still don't understand points 2,3.

Great. One last question. Is is possible to use an ip, let's say 172.25.250.1 for the Switch, while the rest of the network is on 10.1.1.0/24 ? Obviously I will add a second IP on the machine that I will use to manage the switch. Without using VLANs.

I will answer my own question :) I found the IP that the switch got from my DHCP server. Now I am in and I configured it as I wanted. Thank you for your hint and support :)

Hi Fred and thank you for answering. Now I have more questions. Why no DHCP? I can disconnect the switch from all the other devices, but if the switch gets an IP from the DHCP, can't I use that one in order to login? Regarding the ZON utility. After a (very) quick search I saw that I could use Nebula to manage my switch. I…

And I had a breakthrough. Not the type O wanted but eventually I made it working. Now I will try to see if it's possible to use a newer Huawei stick

To answer your last question. All my clients ask the local DNS server and the router. The local DNS cannot access the root servers. I will take a tcpdump tonight or tomorrow morning.

Just to return after the fix of the typo in the title. The 3G Backup settings are the following: * Cellular Backup: Enabled * Ping Check: Enabled (20sec, Gateway, 5sec) * Authentication: Auto * Dial String/APN: Those provided by my ISP * Connection: Nailed Up * Obtain an IP Address Automatically * Obtain DNS Info…

I have my own DNS server. But even from the router's troubleshooting page I cannot ping or traceroute or use the provider's dns servers.I will try to get some screenshot tonight.
