I don't remember the details for Zyxel devices, but I thought that the whole point of having separate Virtual LANs was to provide each VLAN with its own subnet (and hence its own set of DHCP pool for that subnet). Have I misunderstood something?

Enabling a port will always make it visible, otherwise it would not be able to respond to valid requests to that port. The only way you can truly hide a port is by closing it (disable the port). There are firewall rules you can use to make it more secure, by limiting access to specific subnets or addresses, or things like…

Good advice there from PeterUK. Just suggesting, even though it might not be necessary: Have you checked if UDP packet traffic is needed in your scenario? Or are most UDP ports open in your network between source and target?

Hmm. 192.168.xxx.1 on a WAN interface, that is curious. Makes me think that the WAN interface is connected to another interface before accessing the internet … or some sort of virtualization at the ISP side?

Not sure if this can be done, but I might be wrong since I don't know all the details of USG310. The main challenge here is that you need to combine Load Balancing with Routing and the "trunk" physical connection. Looking through search results, it seems there are other products, both software and hardware, which could do…

Try the command set >debug hardware fan-get I am uncertain if this works as a complete string or 2 commands, so another option is >debug hardware >fan-get

Sounds a bit difficult to troubleshoot, but would you be able to cross test the connection using other equipment, i.e. device supplied by the ISP as the only uncertain part in this connection test? If you have tested all available settings on the ports and interfaces, maybe there is something incompatible in the…

Unless you have got some complex configuration added to your device already, I recommend resetting your USG50 to factory defaults, then restart the USG and run the Setup Wizard to get the correct settings for your PPPoE connection (make sure you select the correct options based on what information the ISP has provided).…

Normally, licenses are sold from the local dealer selling ZyXEL products. If you do not have any local dealer in your country selling ZyXEL hardware and software, wait for a reply from someone who knows if this license is available world-wide. Regarding the age of ZyWALL 110, it depends on your needs and current use. It…

Please note that the USG-Flex 100 is also a router in addition to being a firewall. This makes your connection through an existing router slightly more complicated than it needs to be. You may want to configure your existing router to be a complete pass-through connection without routing or DNS, if possible. Regarding your…

I don't know, but how often did they update earlier? Some databases may update less often due to administration and management issues, or geopolitical reasons. Anyway, I will have to wait for a factual reply from someone at ZyXEL.

@RikHead : Please also read the PDF manual present in every firmware zip-file download. The manual (filename is the same as the firmware version) contains a "READ ME FIRST" section, telling you which minimum version you need before upgrading to the newest one. From reading the USG310 files, I found that 4.65 r1 is needed…

This question is covered on page 6 in the PDF manual file in every firmware download. 473AAPJ0C0.PDF is the name of the file (the PDF filename ending in "foss" contains only GNU GPL versions). From page 6, step 3: 3. Recommended upgrade to ZLD4.65 Patch1 or later version first before upgrading to ZLD4.71. (Please note that…

Definitely make a config backup first, in case something unexpected happens. If something breaks in the process, you might end up with a damaged configuration. It is entirely up to you. edit: in theory, the configuration should be kept, but in case something stops working or the upgrade fails, even after a reboot, it is…

Not 100% sure, but there could be a chance your settings can become mangled. If it is a trivial procedure to make notes of your current settings and add them back manually after upgrading, then it should be safe to upgrade by resetting your device first, then upgrade, then rebooting and adding your settings manually. If…
