I do not remember the specifics, but in theory it could possibly be a case of the current firmware on the USG not supporting communication with your new version of the SecuExtender.

Connecting to the router when using a serial cable is not router specific. It is based on using any terminal-based software on your own computer and becoming familiar with the program and its settings. Some settings could be used as they are by default, sometimes you need to set specific settings to make the computer send…

You should be able to find the information in your manuals. Look for the "firmware recovery" chapter in the troubleshooting part of the Appendix in the manual, or use the CLI Reference Guide document to find out how to access a non-booting device in debug mode. You will need a serial cable (DB9 plug) and a terminal program…

Unless another attempt at firmware recovery or reset procedure can make a difference, I would be inclined to think that there is a chance some actual storage device failure has happened.
-
Not sure if this makes any difference, but maybe you could try the serial Console port (DB9) and see if the commands issued via the terminal command line (and the responses) behave any differently.

Very good. When I started reading the issue description, I thought this was going to be a case of defective and unrepairable storage device. Good to see that it is a known issue with a known solution.

Have you tried searching the internet (Google or Bing search engines) to find pages or manuals for your router? I do not know the exact correct answer, but some can be found on this page: (Google search: https://www.google.com/search?q=zyxel+p-660w-tx+password ) More than one suggestion says that the information is found…

Normally, you would not want to change the UDP port number unless it is already in use in your network. Existing port numbers are like identifiers to make it easy for devices and software to identify the traffic packets. If you change the numbers on both sides, it might work, but there is no absolute guarantee that it will…

Blinking red light on a LED that should be only green and not blinking: could be either a hardware or a firmware problem. Example of hardware issue: Fan failure or impending fail. Example of firmware or config issue: incorrect configuration command or firmware error. You will be asked by one of the Zyxel team members to…

There are some other pages outlining how to deal with the ZTP issue. See for example this Google search result: set system ZTP disable

See also the same problem reported in the thread linked below: )

Sorry for not posting sooner. I must defer to the ZyXEL team members for a solution to this issue.

Fair enough, sometimes it can be difficult to notice if we have made any mistakes in the settings. Thank you for the feedback. Reset and reconfigure is often more productive than troubleshooting, as long as you do not lose any data or production when doing so.
