The 'deny mode' depends on the rights of the client, and the tool used to open the file. If it's a viewer which only reads, the file is opened ro, and the sharing is possibly DENY_NONE…1 -

Ah sorry, missed that post. Well, after looking at the files, the most probable difference I can find is oplocks. That's a Windows way to lock files, to prevent multiple edit sessions at a time.…1
