I am not aware of a maximum disk size. The maximum volume size is 16TiB, due to restrictions on the filesystem. Don't know if you can setup several volumes if you insert a disk bigger than that.…1 -

If you want to customize, you'll have to edit the repo file, in /etc/opkg/, when I'm not mistaken. Reinstall should just work, at least for the zypkg. I'm not sure about the stick.1 -
