VMG1312-B30A with USG Flex 200
Hello!
I have connected LAN1 from VMG1312-B30A to WAN from USG Flex 2 and established PPPoE connection. This also works well so far. But now I want to access the VMG1312-B30A via web interface to see the status of the modem. I have created a second interface group "Management" and assigned LAN2,LAN3 and LAN4 to it. The subnets of both interfaces do not overlap. If I now connect LAN2 from the modem to a LAN port of the USG Flex 200, the modem is no longer accessible and offline after 24 to 48 hours. The LEDs on the VMG1312-B30A of LAN1 and LAN2 are flashing very fast. When I restart the modem it works again for a while.
What am I doing wrong?
Thank you!

Hi @baba
a scatch with ip's might help..
anyway: i assume the PPOE connection is established by VMG router, right?
On your VMG lan (to usg wan) interface is in "routing" or "bridging" mode?
if i don't misandersand your scenario, you don't need a second group on VMG and another cable to USG.
Simply digit the lan ip address of your router from a client in a lan zone of your usg.
Client IP must be in a different subnet than the router.
Hope this help

Hi, thank for clarification.
Just a recap of my test:
VMG Config:
Interf. group 1 Lan1-2 Ip 10.1.1.254/24 (VMG Lan1 to USG Wan1)
Interf. group 2 Lan3-4 Ip 10.1.2.254/24 (VMG Lan3 to USG Lan2)
WAN configured as bridge
USG Config:
Lan1 Ip 192.168.1.253
Lan2 Ip 10.1.2.253
WAN1 Ip 0.0.0.0 (PPPoE)
Now Lan1 clients can access to internet and ping 10.1.2.253 but NOT 10.1.2.254 (it should be your issue)
My solution:
a routing rule on your VMG where the traffic to 192.168.1.0/24 is routed through 10.1.2.253
Now your LAN1 clients should be able to reach VMG at 10.1.2.254

Hello @Fred_77,
thank you very much for your effort. Unfortunately, my scenario is different again:
VMG config:
Interface group Default, Ports LAN1, IP 10.0.0.2/24
Interface group Management, Ports LAN2-LAN4, IP 192.168.0.5/16
USG config:
Interface group wan1, Ports P2, IP 0.0.0.0 (PPPoE)
Interface group lan1, Ports P4-P5, IP 192.168.0.1/16
Network cables:
VMG Interface group Default, Port LAN1 <-> USG Interface group wan1, Port P2
VMG Interface group Management, Port LAN2 <-> USG Interface group lan1, Port P5
USG Interface group lan1, Port P4 <-> Switch with all other clients
Ping to 192.168.0.5 and access to webinterface is for all clients possible.
But the problem now is that the network connection hangs after 24 to 48 hours. After that, the IP 192.168.0.5 is no longer accessible and the USG can no longer establish a PPPoE connection. The LEDs of LAN1 and LAN2 of the VMG are blinking very fast.
Thank you!
