block WIFI brute force attempts on NWA5123-AC-HD

Hello,

I have to enable the 2.4 Ghz Wi-Fi for compatibility with some of my devices.
But this Wi-Fi range covers a range of 100m, which is too far and could potentially allow my neighbours to reach this SSID.
Is there a way to block brute force attacks on a NWA5123-AC-HD?
Kind regards

    Hi @mat17

The value is based on your environment, we suggest measure the devices that need to connect to 2.4GHz SSID can at least connect above -70dBm.

You can check at Monitor > Wireless > Station Info then fine tune the value.

    Thank you

    Regards,

    Bella

    Hi @mat17

For your scenario, we suggest some ways to achieve as below.

Firstly, you can adjust output power of 2.4GHz to a lower value to reduce the distance it can reach.

Second, you can use Hidden SSID then only the devices manually create profile advanced can connect to it.

The best settings will be configure an SSID with security method. The MAC Filter List for allowing to connect to SSID is recommended for you.

We can provide you the configurations steps if you need, kindly provide us which mode (standalone/managed/Nebula) the AP’s running.

    Thank you

    Regards,

    Bella

    Hello Bella,

I'm already using hidden SSID and Mac filter list.
But yes, it would be nice if I can restrict the 2.4Ghz range to the 5Ghz one. Do you know which value should I use?
    Thanks for your help.
    Kind regards
