I have a good single reliable VDSL connection. I notice in Broadband -> Multi-WAN that I have ADSL, ETHWAN and eth3G defined 'active'. Should I switch these settings to 'passive', as I have no Balance/failover rules?

You can just leave as it was, the device will not forward traffic to unexist interfaces.5
