USG20W-VPN - Is there an integrated AP I can use to connect e.g. my smartphone to WLAN?

Hello,

I just bought an USG20W-VPN. In the adminbackend I configured the Wireless Built-in AP.

Configuration → Wireless →Built in AP.

Although I set the AP to broadcast SSID (2.4G) I am not seeing this AP on my smartphone.

So this leads me to the question, if I misunderstood, what the USG20W is capable to.

Is it possible to set up a Wireless AP with this device (I thought this is integrated) or do I need to have external APs for this to work.

Thanks a lot!

    Wireless Specifications

    Standard compliance

    IEEE 802.11ac/n compliance

    Wireless frequency

    2.4 GHz/5 GHz

    Radio

    1

    SSID number

    8

    Maximum transmit power

    US (FCC) 2.4 GHz

    25 dBm, 3 antennas

    US (FCC) 5 GHz

    25 dBm, 3 antennas

    EU (ETSI) 2.4 GHz

    20 dBm (EIRP), 3 antennas

    EU (ETSI) 5 GHz

Is your phone able to discover 2.4 GHz networks, or does it only see 5 GHz WiFi networks?

  • Hey,

I completly resetted the Zywall and did all over again. Now WLAN is working as expected.

    Weird…

    Thanks!

Fair enough, sometimes it can be difficult to notice if we have made any mistakes in the settings. Thank you for the feedback. Reset and reconfigure is often more productive than troubleshooting, as long as you do not lose any data or production when doing so.
