XGS1915-10EP - VLANs - configuration
I was able to configure XGS1915-10EP to handle 3 VLANs as following:
Port 1 - PVID 99, rest are default PVID 1
Port 1 is "unused" for VLAN 1, "unused" for VLAN 50, "untagged" for VLAN 99
Rest of the ports are:
untagged for VLAN 1
tagged for VLAN 50
tagged for VLAN 50
This is classic VLAN configuration:
My question is related to terminology for XGS1915-10EP, I am giving example of VLAN 99:
- Is "fixed" and Tx Tagging selected → "tagged"?
- Is "fixed" and Tx Tagging unselected → "untagged"?
- Is "forbidden" → "not member"? In such a case does "Tx Tagging" checkbox any meaning? Or is not applicable?
- What is "normal"? Has "Tx Tagging" any meaning for this selection?
In the same time - setup on XGS1210-12 looks much more clear:

Hi @mparka
Regarding your inquiries:
1. Is "fixed" and Tx Tagging selected → "tagged"?
Yes
2. Is "fixed" and Tx Tagging unselected → "untagged"?
Yes
3. Is "forbidden" → "not member"? In such a case does "Tx Tagging" checkbox any meaning? Or is not applicable?
Indeed, when a port is labeled as "Forbidden," it implies that the port is not a member of that specific VLAN. In this scenario, the "Tx Tagging" checkbox doesn't serve any function.
What is "normal"? Has "Tx Tagging" any meaning for this selection?
"Normal" indicates that the port dynamically joins the VLAN group upon receiving GVRP information (GARP). As the port receives GVRP information, it becomes part of the VLAN group, and the "Tx Tagging" function behaves similarly to the "Fixed" situation.
