Real ATP 500 AV Throughput ?

Hi

A simple test with ATP500 Firewall.

I downloaded this file : http://test-debit.free.fr/1048576.rnd

With ATP 500 Anti-Malware DISABLED : 960 Mb/s  (Fiber 1Gb/s seem to be full)

With ATP 500 Anti-Malware ENABLED : 130 Mb/s  !!!

AV  version : 2.0.2.20190215.0

ATP 500 : V4.32

Is it normal ?

The throughput will be affect when you enable the Anti-Malware.
Since the anti-Malware need to decrypt and analyze each packet, therefore,  it will consume numerous performance.
On our lab, we send 2G file with single session, when disable anti-malware, the throughput is 912Mbp/s. When enable Anti-malware, the throughput will be 181Mbp/s. However, the statistic of throughput may be different by test machine or test process.

Ok Accepted answer, ATP500 real throughputis less than 200Mb/s with Anti-Malware.

 I do not think this is quit slow..  You can find in the datasheet throughput stats with Anti-Malware active.  (700 Mbps) I want to remind you that this is a lab test based on UDP packets.. As you know normal internet traffic is UDP and TCP traffic, this value is not actual what you will get on normal usage. Take 1/3 of this value and you will have an actual value to hold on to.. so 700/3= 233Mpbs..
If firewall is enabled, the throughput may be lower. That in my eyes is normal throughput for this device..

Not satisfying at the moment.

Zyxel French support says : "We haven't test ATP500 throughput at the moment, we don't know if it's normal"

So I disable Anti-Malware to get a correct Web throughput

For the VPN it's complicated too.  VPN Between ATP500 and VPN100 is only 150 Mbp/s. A test other encryption (AES 256, 3DES, etc...) but nothing change. Maybe another setting in router but forum support technicial don't answer.
