Hi,

Is this expected behavior that CPU utilisation is constantly around 20% for device that just sitting on the table - no devices behined, just connection to the internet? This is seen in device dashboard.

    Hi @szn,

This is normal. The firewall runs many feature daemons by default, so the CPU utilization will not be 0%.

Not really what the endusers would expect from an idle device.

USG/ATP's with current load usually do not more than spike above 10-15% and having them really idle they are somewhere below 5% CPU usage.

Combine these high idle usage patterns (our 100H was more around 30-35% on idle!) with the various reports of really slow or maxing out H models (even the bigger 200 & 700 H's!) and do your math…. ☠️

Or maybe the CPU is so fast they put load on it that slows it down instead of under clocking it?

    Hi, I've checked

    show diagnostics cpu all

and 40% utilisation on each core seems not to be normal. I've never seen this on any idle device. Is there something more to be checked?

    Hi @kruess & @szn,

This is because USG FLEX H collects and statistics the traffic/process/CPU usage date in the background, which is different from the USG FLEX/ATP series, which disables those by default.

In addition, cpu_core_list 1 & 2 are for management only. It won't affect data traffic.
