Hello everyone,

I moved from 1.21 to 1.30 patch 1 today.

As you can see I lost almost ALL the custom name I assigned to DHCP reservation:

This is the view I have AFTER the firmware upgrade:

The firewall was able to keep ONLY 4 host names out of 24 customized.

Same thing happened also with a 100HP:

Same firmware upgrade, same lost.

    Hi @GiuseppeR

Could you please share the hostname you previously set on those devices?

With the uOS1.30 update, we've introduced improvements to the DHCP Table reservation. Hostnames now need to follow these guidelines:

Cannot start with a hyphen and may only contain letters [A-Z, a-z], numbers [0-9], and hyphens ( - ), with a maximum length of 255 characters.

If the hostname doesn't meet these requirements, the firewall will automatically convert it to the device's MAC address.

    Hello @Zyxel_Kay

on that Company I used the scheme to name APs like AP_office1, AP_office2 and so on.

Same thing for all the switches and other appliances up to 24 reservations.

To fix that, at least for the moment, I had to place those names (all those names are accepted on Nebula) in Description field. So with this new limitation, is it mandatory to use the Description field to use the name that Nebula accepts or the user wishes to use?

Please let me know if I have to reorganize all the sites with H series.

    Hi @GiuseppeR

Yes. Currently, the DHCP Host Name field on the USG FLEX H is subject to specific limitations. To work within these restrictions, you could use names like AP-office1, AP-office2, and so on. If you'd like to use a name that exceeds these limitations for better device differentiation, you can enter it in the Description field instead.
