Send email when connectivity check failed

Hi,

Is there anyways to send an email when WAN connectivity failed/down? Or any option to send email if there is any error for any link down? I have this option to send an email when link is down in VPN300 but i cant find any in Flex700H.

Hi there,

This feature is already supported in uOS 1.31P0. To configure it:

1. Navigate to System > Notification > Alert function
2. Here you can configure up to 4 Log Alert profiles
3. For each profile, you can select specific log categories and recipients.

I think they are still adding stuff to the FLEX H like Email logs and such

Hi,

When the wan is dead, it will send an email. But when it is up, it never send an email. Can i check how to enable to send an email when it is up?

The same issue is present on previous (non H) versions, it works only for physical disconnection of ethernet port.

If port goes down, email is sent

If port goes up, email is sent

If port stays up but connectivity fails, email is sent

If connectivity comes back, nothing is sent.

Hi users,

Sending email notifications when connectivity checks fail helps administrators promptly address WAN outages.

We don't see a strong need for notifications when connectivity is restored. When failures occur, administrators typically need to investigate line issues and perform recovery operations. They will naturally discover when connectivity returns during this process.

Additionally, in cases of unstable connections, sending notifications for both disconnections and reconnections could generate excessive emails to the SMTP server. For administrators who wish to monitor line stability, we recommend using syslog to track the device's connectivity check logs instead.
