Overview

In crafting the new showrooms for SEAT and CUPRA, the goal was to deliver a cutting-edge, visually stunning experience. By integrating advanced multimedia terminals and virtual car displays, the need for a robust, fast wireless network became clear. Zyxel Networks stepped in with WiFi 6 and WiFi 6E access points, and smart managed switches, all managed via the intuitive Nebula cloud platform. This setup was crucial to bringing this vision to life, ensuring wide coverage, seamless management, and optimal experiences for customers and operations from every angle.

Challenges

The new approach to showcasing vehicles during exhibitions and sales presentations imposed high demands on network reliability. In the repair and service area, mechatronics engineers needed seamless access to test programs and parts catalogs from a local server to ensure optimal maintenance of each vehicle model. Additionally, the workshop's network had to be robust enough to endure outdoor conditions while providing excellent coverage despite significant interference. The Schultes car dealership faced the challenge of rapidly setting up a network due to tight conversion timelines. The network had to be easily configurable and manageable, but factors such as interference from metal structures and long-distance connectivity complicated the selection of suitable products.

Solutions

To tackle this crucial task, Schultes car dealership enlisted IT-Concepts, a leading expert with 25 years of experience in sectors like industrial IT, medium-sized businesses, and student residences. As a trusted Zyxel Networks partner since 2017 and holding Gold Status since 2020, IT-Concepts is one of Zyxel Networks' largest dealers in North Rhine-Westphalia, known for its deep industry insights and adaptability in the evolving IT landscape.

After a detailed site survey and evaluation, Zyxel Networks’ Nebula solution, along with access points and network switches, was selected for its ability to cover challenging areas.

WAX640S-6E WiFi 6E access points feature built-in smart antennas that adapt to changing connections, ensuring wide coverage and a stable connection throughout the dealership. Their flexible design allows for wall or ceiling mounting, perfectly meeting the dealership’s needs. WAX655E WiFi 6 outdoor access point is engineered to handle congested mobile data networks and poor WiFi offloading, providing multigigabit wireless connectivity in large open spaces. It is built to endure harsh outdoor conditions with IP67 weatherproofing and operates effectively in extreme temperatures.

The XMG1930 switch features six 10G uplinks with copper and fiber options, allowing for network expansion and flexible deployment. Its eight PoE++ 60W ports deliver connectivity and power to the access points, ensuring high network throughput and seamless support for WiFi 6, 6E, and 7 APs. This multigigabit network, powered by the XMG1930 switches, can be easily configured and managed through the Nebula solution, without interrupting daily operations.

Results
