Overview

Due to its working methods and standards, the Demner.Group places significantly higher demands on its network. Seamless WiFi coverage and secure login options, such as VPN, are essential for its daily operations. The Demner.Group's subsidiary, DMB., placed great importance on the security of all components when redesigning the network. Zyxel products offer the ideal portfolio for this and form the core of the new network.

Challenges

DMB. is housed in a large, historic building on a technical university campus, featuring one of Vienna's first reinforced concrete structures. The building's old walls and constant network interferences made maintaining a stable connection impossible. When the company needed to overhaul its network infrastructure, installing a wired network wasn't an option due to the construction work required, which would disrupt campus operations and damage the walls. Any changes to the building's structure, such as wiring and electrical modifications, would have required a new survey.

Solutions

To find a suitable solution, DMB. turned to system integrator Tools At Work. After a thorough evaluation, it was determined that WiFi was the only viable option for achieving a cost-effective and efficient network connection. They chose Zyxel Networks' solutions, which provided the reliable, secure connectivity they needed with simplified deployment. The XS3700 series switch was adopted to create a low-latency, high-density 10G backbone architecture, ensuring the company's network could handle heavy data loads with ease. The XGS3700 switches ensured high power and availability, with stacking to prevent system bottlenecks from single switch failures. Additionally, the XGS2220 and XGS1930 series switches established stable, high-speed site-to-site connections, enabling smooth operations and improved scalability.

The WAX650S and WAX510D WiFi 6 access points deliver high-performance wireless connectivity, offering fast data rates and supporting a large number of users. This ensures smooth, high-speed connections that meet the group's demands, ultimately boosting office productivity. The WAX650S is equipped with Zyxel's Smart Antenna technology, continuously adjusting connections to each device, and maintaining optimal performance. This advanced technology minimizes interference, avoiding connection issues that can disrupt daily operations. With premium components, the WAX650S is designed for a seamless user experience and long-lasting reliability, ensuring the network performs at its best.

The USG FLEX 700H firewall is designed to address the growing complexity of modern threats, using Al-powered cloud intelligence to provide multi-layered protection. With high-performance multi-core hardware and Fastpath technology, USG FLEX 700H easily meets the demands of high-speed networks. The firewall provides the company with a secure VPN and high data throughput for multiple connections and clients.

Results

Zyxel Networks' solutions, including switches, WLAN access points, and firewalls, established a robust network infrastructure for DMB., meeting the needs of over 130 employees who require stability, high throughput, and secure data transfer. The new setup provided reliable, high-speed wireless connectivity without disrupting the historic building, while the WiFi 6 access points, high-density switches, and Al-powered firewalls enhanced security, scalability, and overall office productivity.
