With Nebula 18.30, users can now create, edit, and manage objects for USG FLEX H Series firewalls directly on Nebula Control Center (NCC).

What is an “Object”?

In networking, an object refers to predefined network elements that can be referenced by multiple services for consistent and efficient configuration.

New in Nebula 18.30:

  • Users can configure and manage the following objects on NCC:
    • Zone
    • Address
    • Address Group

1. Managing Zone Objects

Path: Site-wide > Configure > Firewall > Object > Zone

  • Zones help group network interfaces to apply firewall policies more effectively.

2. Managing Address Objects

Path: Site-wide > Configure > Firewall > Object > Address

  • Address objects define specific IP addresses or subnets for use in firewall policies, NAT rules, and routing configurations.
  • Users can specify different address types, such as:
    • Single IP Address
    • Subnet
    • IP Range

3. Managing Address Group Objects

Path: Site-wide > Configure > Firewall > Object > Address Group

  • Address groups combine multiple address objects into a single reference point.
  • Useful for applying consistent policies across multiple devices or networks.

General Rules for Object Management

  • Object names must start with an alphabet and only contain alphanumeric characters.
  • Once created, the object name cannot be modified.
  • Objects cannot be deleted if they are being referenced by other services.
