Hi @Roncoruk70 ,
We were able to log in successfully to the GS2220 running firmware version 5.00. To better assist you, please provide the following information:
- What was the previous firmware version before upgrading to 5.00?
- Are you unable to access the GS2220-28HP's local GUI at all, or can you access the login page but receive an “Invalid username or password” message after entering your credentials?
- When you mentioned "SSH works," does that mean you're able to access the GS2220-28HP via SSH, login successfully and view information/ make configurations?
You can also record your screen and share it with us so we can better understand the issue you're experiencing.

Hi Zyxel_Judy,
I have been upgrading from versions 4.70 and 4.80. I have been logging on via the GUI/HTTPS remotely and upgrading to version 5.00, after which I can no longer connect via the GUI/HTTPS but am still able to log in via SSH remotely and carry out all the normal commands and functions. Via the GUI I just see

Could you please provide more details about your GUI/HTTPS remote?

Hi Zyxel_Judy,
We have a large estate of Zyxels and for security and other reasons we were upgrading to the latest version of firmware. This has been carried out remotely as going to every site would not be feasible. So remote login using HTTPS and upgrading the devices through the GUI. Once the devices were rebooted we were unable to log back onto the switches using the GUI, we just got the message that the remote device was not reachable. However, The switches are online and reachable via SSH. No config has changed but it looks as though V5.00 has changed something with HTTPS remote login.

Hi @Roncoruk70 ,
Based on your description, we assume that with firmware 4.80, you were accessing your switches using HTTP (port 80), while HTTPS (port 443) was not enabled. In firmware 5.00, we added "Redirect to HTTPS" as a default setting, which explains why you're unable to access your switches after upgrading to firmware version 5.00.
There are two solutions available:
1. Check your remote configuration and enable port 443
2. Use SSH to access your switch and disable the HTTPS redirect with the following CLI command:no service-control http redirect-to-https
For more detailed information, please refer to the CLI Reference documentation:0
