Is there anything that needs to be confirmed when connecting a third-party GBIC to a Zyxel switch?
- Ensure the fiber cable type matches the GBIC module type:
- Use multi-mode fiber cables for SR (short-range) GBIC modules.
- Use single-mode fiber cables for LR (long-range) GBIC modules.
- Monitor the DDMI (Digital Diagnostics Monitoring Interface) logs on both devices to ensure there are no signal abnormalities.
