To provide a more responsive and efficient wireless experience, Zyxel has improved the APC Wireless Health feature in the latest firmware release, ZLD 5.40.
What’s New?
The primary enhancement focuses on the monitoring interval used by the system to evaluate connected wireless stations (clients):
- Previous Interval: 3 minutes
- New Interval (v5.40): 1 minute
This change significantly shortens the time it takes for the system to detect poor signal strength or suboptimal client connections.
Why It Matters
By reducing the monitoring interval to just one minute, the APC can now more quickly identify clients with poor wireless performance and proactively steer them to a closer or better-positioned AP. This helps:
- Improve overall client connectivity
- Reduce latency and dropped connections
- Enhance wireless user experience in high-density environments
