Scenario:

You have site to site VPN, where the AD or DNS server are located in VPN peer subnet.

Question:

Why the H series Firewall couldn't join the AD as well as DNS query or some local out traffic which need to through VPN tunnel.

Solution:

  1. It is highly recommended to use a Route-Based VPN for such local-out traffic scenarios where the Active Directory (AD) is on the other side of a VPN.
  2. Ensure that the source IP of the local-out traffic is the Virtual Tunnel Interface (VTI) address. This means the Peer AD must allow access for the VTI address instead of the interface address.
