My AP deployment is moderate-density, but my smart mesh signal strength is not good, why?

Scenario:

User's location is built with concrete, and AP deployment is about 5 ~ 10 M. Has many AP with smart mesh, but the signal strength is not good. Sometimes it will be lower than -80 dBm.

Root cause:

The radio maximum output power is -15/-18/-21 dBm (2.4/5/6 GHz), which will be affected by the concrete.

Solution:

  1. Fix your smart mesh band to 2.4 GHz and enlarge the radio maximum output power to maximum option. Note: This might cause the uplink link rate to be lower than before.
  2. Fix your smart mesh band to 5 GHz or 6 GHz, and enlarge the radio maximum output power for the smart mesh band. Note: 5 GHz and 6 GHz signal attenuation resistance are poorer than 2.4 GHz, but they have better link rate.
  3. If above helps less, please consider to connect cable as AP's uplink.
