getting more bandwidth with pwr injector to NWA23AC-Pro over long cable
I have a nicely performing setup with UHG100, a couple of 1900 switches and W510 ACs. Everything is gigabit but the outside AP (-the NWA-1123AC-Pro) is at the tail end of a 350-400ft buried cat6 cable and is only able give 100Mb throughput. The AP is powered by a Zyxel Giga PoE Injector model: TPT24S48A (DC48V — 500mA (max). The client wants to know if the throughput can be increased by changing either the injector or the AP or other means, since the cable can not be changed at this time. Any ideas or suggestions will be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Hi @bedfoto ,
At 350-400 feet (107-122 meters), this exceeds Cat6's 100-meter limit, causing significant signal degradation. Changing equipment (injector/AP) won't improve throughput at this distance. Expected speeds: 10-100 Mbps maximum, with 100 Mbps only under ideal conditions with high-quality cable.
If cable replacement isn't feasible, consider placing a powered switch or Ethernet Surge Protector at the midpoint of the run.
