Recognizing the critical role of connectivity in delivering a premium dining experience, Dockyard Brewing Co. aimed to build a next-generation network infrastructure that would cater to its guests' digital needs. Given the restaurant's vast open spaces and high guest turnover, a seamless and secure network was essential. Without legacy systems in place, they required a future-proof, high-speed, and centrally managed networking solution capable of ensuring uninterrupted connectivity indoors and outdoors. By deploying Zyxel Networks' WiFi 6 technology, combined with powerful switching, security, and centralized management solutions, Dockyard Brewing Co. has successfully transformed its connectivity, offering uninterrupted, high-speed connectivity to guests while enhancing overall operational efficiency.

Challenges

Luxury at Dockyard Brewing Co. isn't just about ambiance-it's about delivering a seamless digital experience. Covering two acres, the restaurant required consistent, high-speed WiFi for both indoor and outdoor seating, ensuring smooth connectivity for guests, corporate gatherings, and events. Reliable, secure networking was essential for handling online reservations, cashless transactions, and customer engagement without interruptions. Besides, the restaurant's IT team required a centralized, easy-to-manage network to reduce complexity and streamline operations, allowing them to focus on enhancing guest services rather than troubleshooting connectivity issues.

Solutions

To bring their vision to life, Dockyard Brewing Co. partnered with Techniche, leveraging Zyxel Networks' advanced portfolio to design and deploy a modern, secure, and high-performance network. For the indoor areas, including guest rooms, corridors, lobbies, and the banquet hall, the hotel installed WAX610D WiFi 6 Access Points and WAX510D WiFi 6 Access Points. They were strategically deployed in key areas such as guest seating zones, lounges, and bar areas.

These access points provided high-speed, uninterrupted connectivity, eliminating dead zones and ensuring optimal network performance, even during peak dining hours. Outdoors, the restaurant implemented eight WAX655E WiFi 6E Outdoor Access Points. These devices, designed to withstand outdoor conditions, ensured stable, high-bandwidth connectivity across the restaurant's open seating areas, event spaces, and garden zones, allowing guests to stay connected whether they were dining indoors or outdoors. To support these high-performance access points, Dockyard Brewing Co. deployed GS1920-24HPv2 and GS1920-48HPv2 Smart Managed PoE Switches, which delivered reliable data connectivity and power over Ethernet (PoE), simplifying network deployment and ensuring consistent uptime. These switches provided advanced network management features, maintaining high availability and stability even during peak traffic. Regarding security, the USG FLEX 100 Firewall safeguarded the network from external threats. Equipped with advanced threat protection, URL filtering, and application control, the firewall helped secure sensitive guest information and maintain regulatory compliance. Meanwhile, the NXC5500 Wireless LAN Controller gave the IT team a centralized, user-friendly platform for monitoring and managing the entire network across the restaurant's vast indoor and outdoor spaces.
