My NWA50AX keeps losing link on the LAN port

Hi,
I'm running a NWA50AX via Nebula over POE. It's an unmanaged Zyxel switch on the other side. The AP keeps losing the link intermittently. Anything I can do to diagnose what might be the issue?
Thanks

Does the AP reboot?
change the Ethernet cable
Is the unmanaged Zyxel switch a PoE? or do you have a PoE injector?
maybe get a PoE injector 30W and test without the switch.

Doesn't look like the AP reboots. It's a long cable run to ceiling two floors above. Can't easily change it, but another AP was working just fine.
It's a POE switch and a fairly ancient one. But should give 15W. I'll see if I can bypass that PoE switch and use an injector.
I had hoped there would be some useful information in the logs. But if there is I can't see it.0 -
If you had a switch that logged port link that would of helped so maybe the switch is fine for power over the ports but the link is dropping?
You may need to look for another switch?

Well, it did work just fine with another access point I believe. There is of course the possibility that I just didn't notice, but that seems somewhat unlikely to me.
The other thing is that the backplate design seems a bit strange when the cable comes from the ceiling. It seems it has to be bent in a weird way to hide the cable. I'll see if I can try hanging freely or at least with more slack on the cable for a bit.
It's a bit tricky to narrow down though as it's been fine for the last 12 hours.
The connection seems to drop for longer periods of time, not just flaps. I don't really understand why that would happen.
I'd hoped there would be some sort of diagnostics to narrow this down.0 -
Hi @monahans47 ,
Regarding the issue you have encountered, there are three possible reasons that could cause the intermittent disconnection of your AP:
1.Insufficient power supply from the unmanaged switch
Please verify the total power budget of your unmanaged switch and calculate the power consumption of your NWA50AX. If the total power consumed by all devices connected to your switch exceeds the switch's total power budget, this could cause your NWA50AX to experience intermittent disconnections.
2. Ethernet cable or port issues
Please try replacing the Ethernet cable that connects your switch and AP. Also, try connecting your AP to different ports on the switch to rule out port-specific issues.
3. Review the AP's Event Log
Navigate to Site-Wide > Monitor > Access Points > Event Log to examine related events. Enter the name of your NWA50AX as a filter to display events specific to this access point. Please provide us with a screenshot of the event log for further analysis.
In summary, please try all three suggestions above to help us better identify the root cause of your AP's disconnection issues.
Best Regard,
Lynn
